2. Player Profile Screen
------------------------
A. Functions

SAVE - The SAVE button is used after you make a change to a particular record. Hitting this button will write the change to file. Be careful not to hit NEXT or PREV before choosing SAVE. Otherwise, your changes will be lost.

PREV - The PREV button moves to the previous record. If you are already at record 1, you can move back no further.

NEXT - The NEXT button moves to the NEXT record. If you are at the last record it will inform you that you can move no further.

NEW - Allows you to create a new player profile record. You may want to use the FIND function before creating a new record just to make sure the player is not already in the database.

FIND - This brings up the FIND screen which allows you to search for players by first or last name. See sections 3 for more details.

RANK - This brings up the RANK screen which is where you can PREDICT a particular draft. See section 4 for more details.

B. Fields
FIRST NAME, LAST NAME - The name fields allow you to input a first name of up to 12 letters and last name up to 20 letters.

TEAM - The team field alows a 3 letter team name. Ie., DET = Detroit.
AVG DRAFT - The average draft field is the average of all the other drafts that have taken place this season. This ranking is instrumental in predicting how a particular draft will unfold. By default, there are 10 places in between each ranking. Therefore, if Sammy Sosa has a ranking of 10 this really means he is ranked first in the average draft rankings. Randy Johnson may have a 50 which means he is ranked fifth. This allows the user to easily change a player's ranking without affect the others players. Ie., if you would like to move Randy Johnson ahead of Sammy Sosa, just change Johnson's ranking to something like 3. This way you just made one change. You didn't need to move Sammy Sosa up to number 2 and Chipper Jones up to number 3, etc.

Pos - The Position field is a one or two letter description of a player's position. Ie., 1B = First Base.

Rank - This is used for a user's own ranking system. During the predict stage, you can easily see who your next
likely pick will be by sorting players according to your own rankings. Most team owners have their own personal preferences and would not want to draft exactly like the the order of the Average Draft rankings. When you first use this program there will already be rankings entered. These are the author's own personal preferences.

Salary - If you would like to use this feature you can visit the website for instructions on downloading some of the standard salary files or fill in each field yourself according to your league's salary scheme.

Comments - The COMMENTS field is used to enter up to 555 characters of commentary information about a player. You can use this during the draft to get a quick dialogue about how the player is expected to perform this year. Again, the author has already populated this field with some information, but you can change it as you like.

Picked - This field is used to denote whether or not the player has already been picked by someone in your draft. As the draft is taking place, you should be marking these players as picked by using this field. A check means picked and an uncheck means that the player is still available.

3. Find Screen
--------------
This screen is used as an easy method to find a player's profile record using his first or last name. Enter in the player's part of the player's name and choose FIND. If the player exists in the database, his record will appear on the screen. Ie., type in "Jet" to find Derek Jeter. Hit FIND AGAIN for common names. Ie. Searching for "Rodr" will first find Alex Rodriguez but choose FIND AGAIN and you will see Ivan Rodriguez.
*Note: Search information is case sensitive.

4. Ranking Screen
-----------------
This is where you will spend most of your time. Use this view to see players sorted by name, average draft, personal ranking, or to predict. Double clicking on a player name will bring up their complete profile.

Sorting - Click the Tools choice on the menu and choose the method you want to sort by.
A. Name - Shows players sorted by Last Name.
B. Avg - Shows players sorted by average draft.
C. Rank - Shows players sorted by your personal ranking.
D. Predict - Shows players sorted by where the computer thinks each player will be drafted. This method
uses a complex algorithm to analyze a player's average draft against the number of teams in your league and the number of players that have already been picked at each position.

< and > - Use these buttons to move to the previous and next screens since only 10 players can be viewed at one time.

SAVE - If you make any changes to a record's Name, Avg, Rank, or Picked status you must hit SAVE. This will update the record in the database. All 10 players on a screen are saved with one click of the SAVE button.

# - This key will show you the number of players that have been picked at each position.

Options - The Options choice allows you to filter the records you see on the rank screen. See section 5 for more details.

5. Options Screen
-----------------
The "O" button on the Rank screen brings up the options.
A. Position to Show will show you only the position that you choose to see. Ie., to see on WR's and no QB's or RB's choose WR.
B. Show Picked allows you to view or not view players that have already been picked. By default, the predict view will only show unpicked players.
C. # of Teams in League - Input the number of teams that are in your league. This is usually between 6 and 16. The computer uses this number to do its predictions.
D. SAVE - You must hit SAVE after making any changes to this screen. Otherwise your changes will be lost.

6. Registration
---------------
Why Register?
If you register you will:
1. Have complete access to the newest data files which are updated periodically.
2. Allowed to have free upgrades for the next year on this product.
3. Be free of the nag screens that
occasionally pop up. Believe me, you don't want your turn in the draft to pass you by while trying to clear the nag screens away. It is best to register before you create a negative impact on your draft.
4. Have complete access to the Windows 95/98/NT version as well as the Windows CE 2.x version. The data
files for these verions are completely compatible.
5. Save money. It is only the price of one fantasy magazine and the information is a lot more up to date. The
fantasy magazines often go to print in well before the season. By then, countless players have been injured, retired, or have risen as stars in spring training.
6. Free technical support, including assistance with exporting the data to other formats.
7. Have an edge over the other teams in your league. You'll know how they are going to draft. They'll be picking guys in the 3rd round who would have dropped to the 7th round.
